Abstract

This article is based on a comparison of the review of existing scientific literature on the topic of new trends in the generations of innovation management and management of research activities with empirical data on existing approaches to innovation. The idea that there is a single dominant approach to innovation does not correspond to the (successful) approaches that are used by companies around the world. A contextual approach is needed here. However, studies using this approach are very scattered. Decisions on the adoption of an innovation management approach to the study of the novelty of innovation or the type of organization have been considered separately, respectively, until now. The practical and scientific significance of this work lies in the fact that it describes an integrated approach to contextual innovation.
